Well it's been over two weeks from the time Charles Barkley, the Weight Watchers for men program spokesman rendered his notorious comment on a TNT basketball broadcast, " I thought this was the greatest scam going-getting paid for watching sports, this Weight Watchers thing is a bigger scam."
Charles did not recognize his microphone was on as he rendered the comment to his broadcast partners Reggie Miller and Kevin Harlan. Since then Matthew Bautista of Weight Watchers announced they don't have a problem with Charles and he would continue on being an endorser for the Weight Watchers for men program.
That shouldn't be any surprise actually. Charles did what a good spokesman is paid to do. He got a lot of buzz going about the Weight Watchers for men system as well as Weight Watchers period. He put Weight Watchers in many individuals minds who will Google it and check it out.
Scam is obviously a buzzword that is frequently used by promoters in order to generate attention. Once dubbed "The Round Mound of Rebound" thanks to the Weight Watchers for men plan Sir Charles looks nothing like his previous self. Due to the interest he has stirred up, despite it being by accident, Weight Watchers for men just could have gotten a real bargain for their investment. I really don't think this is a scam at all. Looks more like a win - win scenario.
