Opinion and Fact are two very different things. They're like oil and water, both might be liquid, but they are still very different. They have different compositions, and for one thing, they don't really mix well. Opinion and Fact and self opinion might very well be defined as Einstein and Mozart, both may be geniuses, but both have different specialties and fields, both were also born in different eras and timelines. Basically, all I'm saying is that opinion and fact together with the related news and commentary are two greatly different things.
For one thing, the main different between opinion and fact is their composition. Facts are composed of well, facts. They are composed of well-researched and true words. Like, "the world is round" is a fact, that is because the world is round, though not a perfect circle, but it still is round. Opinion, though, is not false. Contrary to what people say and think about opinion, that opinion is the complete opposite of fact, and opinion is a biased phrase or sentence about something. Like, an opinion might be "Lebron is better than Kobe Bryant". For one thing, that is an opinion because that is not a well-researched fact and that has not been confirmed. You'll occasionally find someone contradicting your statement, and they'll be expressing their own opinions, and the cycle will carry on. So, basically, the different between opinion is fact is that opinion is what you think about something while fact is not what you think, but what really is that something.
It would be wise to know the dissimilarity between the two of them because you will encounter both opinion and fact in school, in work, and in your daily lives, and not knowing which is which will definitely hurt you and will make you look simple in the long run.
