Place a slit baggy or wax paper onto the tortilla press plate. Then place an inch and a half sized ball of dough on the middle of the plastic. Use another piece of plastic or wax paper to cover the ball of tortilla dough. Next pull down the top plate and use the handle to press down with. A cast iron tortilla press works well for this because of its weight and you really can use the leverage to your advantage. Next open the tortilla press and carefully separate the plastic or wax paper from the top of the dough. Next put your hand beneath the tortilla dough and flip it into your other hand. Separate the plastic or wax paper from the dough. Keep on pressing inch and a half sized dough balls into tortillas until you run out of them.
